Having spent the last 4 days in the Police Academy... emm.. came to realise many things which is damn different from the army... its a GREAT culture shock lah... but will soon get use to it... im sure MANY of you (kapos) out there... haha... kidding... are interested in the difference with the PA and SAF right... emm... let me briefly list out some of the differences lah ya? haha...
1) NO more knn, cb, f*** in the PA! haha... WE are cultured people... lalala... and we actually get f*** (oopx) if we happen to mention it infront of our Sirs...
2) In PA, we call all superiors Sir, even for sergeants...
3) Food there sux! Cox its not catered by NTUC... bleargh... its dry and it SUXZ! And cox of the dryness... you get constipation very often! argh... that SUZ! (didnt realise that SUCK can be spelt in so many ways!)
4) We do not call our physical training instuctors PTI... we call them FI (field instructors)...
5) We run like nobody's business and cox it on main land... we like to take a "short" (as said by my FI) jog around everywhere on this main land...
6) We do not have platoons in PA... instead... we have squads and each squad has abt 30-38 people? around there la huh...
7) We (including me) are addressed as OCTs (NO MORE RECRUIT!) haha...
8) We have a senior/junior buddy system among the OCTs... so we (including me) has a senior buddy... and these seniors have alreadi been in the OCT course for 5r months...
9) We spend most of our free time ironing our uniform, polishing our boots till we can see our teeth and bathing!
10) Bathing... emm... we bath about 3 times each day! haha... unlike in BMT where we only get to bath after RO! haha... we take a bath after breakfast (which is after our PT lah...)... after lunch and after dinner... sometimes every before we sleep...
11) We must LOOK GOOD, FEEL GOOD and SMELL GOOD! haha... that accounts for why we have to bath SO many times! haha...
12) We have tons of books to study! abt 8 THICK books and 3 files! with 12 exams to take throughout the 9 months course... its those BIG BIG exams kind and if you fail... you DIE~!
13) We go for lessons carry brief case containing our books and files...
14) Our cupboard is freaking SMALL! half the size of the cupboards in tekong...
15) Our New Balance shoes are white, black and blue in colour... unlike those in SAF which are Reddish in colour.. haha...
16) We do not have out door trainings from 11am - 3pm... so if you do not have any lessons to attend at these time slots... you can do your own stuff in your barrack ( we dont call them bunks anymore...)..
17) We can SLEEP during our free time if we have any! (BUT no sleeping on the beds)
18) After 7pm... which is after training... we are free to do whatever we want... we can dress in anyhow we want and walk anywhere in PA (except to the female's barracks)
19) We can play any games we want after 7pm but must be properly attired...
20) AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST! PA opperates on a 5 day job wekk! haha... so we get to book out at abt 5.30 on Friday and we book in on about 9.30 on Sundays! woot! haha...
emm... cool? BUT we have a crazy FI lah... he LOVES to run... and he is a half-iron man... damn it... today we had our first PT lesson... and guess where we ran to?! we ran from PA to some ulu ulu banglaows place which is UPSLOPE and then to novena square and then back to PA... freaking hell... abt 4-5 km i think... and thats wat he meant by SHORT run! from wat we heard from our seniors... he has made his trainees ran to east coast park, esplanade, city hall, etc before! haha... cool? bleargh!
