im FINALLY BACK!
if you guys tot that OBS is all abt fun and laughter.. think again..
its TWELVE days without your hp and everything "back to basic"...
Basically.. this 12 days was divided into 3 segments.. land expedition.. kayaking and sailing... the land expedition includes the usually team building games lah.. those "crossing the river" and "finding the tree" games... haha... and of course those high element stuff... your highness here set a record to chiong up the inverted tower which is abt 5 story high in 2.5 minutes with my buddy.. haha.. not easy k? haha.. oh yah! there was a "solo day" too.. we were thrown in one part of the jungle ALONE and given only basic stuff like water.. food and ground sheet.. so basically you survive there on your own for 8 hours loh.. haha.. but i spent most of the time sleeping... waking up onli to eat! haha.. too tired lah...
so there was a 3 days 2 night sailing on a 16 men + 1 (instructor) sail... haha..all first time sailing lah.. so abit bobo.. just do as told.. but its damn fun! haha.. sailing around the coast of Singapore... from Ubin to Sembawang to Changi.. haha... on one of the nights.. we even slept on the boat (we call it the cutter)... haha.. damn cold loh! and not forgetting the storm we encounted during the journey.. we hid under the poncho (raincoat) together.. haha.. to keep warm! damn cold k? BUT.. cleaning up the cutter after the expedition was a bitch! man! damn tired le still need to clean this clean that... argh! and everything that we load on the sail before we set sail is not light loh!...
okay.. and finally we got the 4 days 3 nights kayaking to the southern islands of Singapore! Woooo... sounds cool ya? but it was a bitch too! we almost died on the 1st day! haha.. lots of memories around Changi Naval Base.. man.. the waves were crazy! luckily me and my buddy steady.. row like crazy.. and made the through.. the rest either had their kayaks capsize or swept far far away with the current! (we were rowing against wind and current at the time).. man.. it was like a roller coaster ride! we were like "bouncing" up and down in the waters lah! bitch! haha... so shag but the time we made it through.. so on the 1st night we camp at "SPARKc".. its at east coast... second night was at sister island.. you guys know where it is? its somewhere opposite sentosa island.. third night was at changi beach where we could see our beloved tekong island! haha... and once again.. once we return back to ubin.. cleaning was a bitch again! haha.. so much to wash and clean up lah! and due to all the capsize and everything.. we actually lost quite a few items so gotta pay for them loh.. but dont care lah.. just pay.. anyway.. its over!
so today was the last day of our course.. and there was this 12km commitment run.. man! i was banned from running cox of my leg injuries... so i was incharge of filming the rest when they start off... but man! i couldnt stand being left behind so i ran!!! haha.. it was quite an accomplishment for a person like me who hates running to run 12km! haha.. but i kenna scolding from my instructor when i reach the 6km run cox i wasnt suppose to run in the 1st place!
okay... enough of such details... time for some reflections... really... OBS has allowed mi to see the true colours of each individuals... there was this particular guy.. who refused to kayak anymore after the 1st day cox he was frightened by the wave near Changi Naval Base (where the choppy waters was and where many capsize and got swept away with the current)... and mi being nice.. wanted to ask if he was alright lah.. i mean.. everyone perservered but he was the onli one who refuse to carry one.. so this was wat i gathered "even though i was on the safety boat.. i didnt feel safe at all".. OH MAN! you know how big that safety boat was?! it was running on motor and not paddles somemore leh! and even on that.. you dont feel safe? and i gathered that he said "i have no guts to row.." from some friends... wats more.. he didnt cook at all out field and didnt bother to help pitch the tents he sleep in! man.. wat the *tOot* cant believe it...
but one thing i know.. i believe that the mind really controls wat the body is capable of doing.. you may feel shag... but if your determination is there.. you will pull through no matter how tough the going gets... the body may have its limits... but the mind does not.. as long as you set your heart to attain a goal and you are determined to achieve it.. you will make it!
